The occupation and pacification of the Bastetanian Granada by Rome

Abstract

In this paper we present in detail the process by which the Granada region of the area known as Bastetania fell under the control of the Roman Republic during the Second Punic War until its definitive pacification in the 1st century BC Through the study and analysis of various sources, both classical authors and contemporary researchers as well as archaeological remains, we intend to approach the development of the occupation of the Bastetanian territory and its subsequent pacification with the ultimate objective of understanding the transition process from the Iberian world to the Roman in the province of Granada.
