Luis Morell deserves a study dedicated to highlighting some aspects of his biography, little known. This study focuses on its proposals to improve urban gardening, by introducing the so-called «english garden» in some of the most important squares of the city (Mariana Pineda y Trinidad). But also analyzes his ideas on urban reform, in the European and Spanish context of the time. In the twenties of the last century, Morell participated in the debate on the growth or expansion «ensanche» of the city, and was in favor of disseminated growth. Finally, during the municipal governments of the Directorio Militar, the expansion plan failed.
