Abstract

This article aims to present the works about Andalusia created by Elena Poirier on her trip to Spain, dated in the mid-20th century. Poirier was a Chilean artist widely recognized in the world of illustration for her nume- rous drawings for magazines and children’s stories. However, and despite the outstanding work that Poirier developed in this area, very little is known about this other artistic facet, which results in a numerous set of very interesting illustrations about her stay in Spain and, especially, in Andalusia. For this reason, we have considered it important to dedicate an article to the work that Elena Poirier carried out outside the framework of the magazines El Peneca or Simbad .
