Abstract

In the second half of the 1920s, a group of students burst into the intellectual life of Granada. Attracted by personalities such as Federico García Lorca and Fernando de los Ríos, some of these young people began their academic training at the University, took part in the activities of the Ateneo and collaborated in projects such as the review Gallo and the Federación Universitaria Escolar. One of them, Nicolás Ramiro Rico, stood out early on as a cultural critic, student activist and researcher on Law. Based on his articles in the press, his readings, his practices as an agitator and his research work on Jean Bodin, this article reconstructs the intellectual environment in Granada during the Silver Age, the youth culture of the young avant-gardists and the formation of the Granada School of Political Law, and reflects on the relationship between intellectuals and the town.
