Contribution to the history of the Real Cabaña de Carreteros. Appointment of the Protective Judge and Conservator of the cabañiles and carreteros of the Cabaña Real in Granada (1711)

Abstract

This paper introduces the privileges of carriers in the Old Regime, and the configuration of the administration of justice through the figure of the Conservative Judge. It provides the edition of a non-published document from Archivo de la Real Chancillería of Granada related to Leonardo de Vivanco Angulo's appointment as Protective Judge and Conservative Judge of Cabañiles y Carreteros de la Real Cabaña in Granada. This work provides a new perspective to elucidate the role of the sub-delegated commission and its functions.
